I bought IQ Air for my mother because there are plenty of reasons to like it. It has a sleek and aesthetically pleasing design and an abundance of features to combat air pollution in your home. This round-shaped air purifier can be placed vertically at any spot in your home. It looks cool wherever you station it. You can place it against a wall, in a corner, or beside a couch.

The Atem X  has an app that you can use to check particulate matter readings (invisible to the naked eye) and indoor air quality. You can control the purifier settings, such as fan speed and the rate at which the air gets clean. The rate is calculated from 1 to 8. The 8 is the fastest rate and is also the loudest one.  However, its loudest sound is the quietest one I have ever seen in an air purifier. 

Also, I tried the filter at the highest settings, and it took only 20 minutes to clean the 1000 square feet room. You don’t have to clean at the highest speed. You can leave the purifier at mid-speed, and it will clean the room with less noise, which works best for my mother’s room. 

Another feature that makes it a great investment is its effective removal of asthma and allergy-causing viruses and bacteria. My mother got COVID back in 2019. So, I always make sure she is in a clean environment. While I can’t deal with outdoor air pollution, I have trusted the indoors with Atem X.

It can remove 99.99% of H1N1 and coronavirus and almost the same percentage of E.coli and staphs. Yes, it is expensive, but it also comes with a 10-year warranty option that makes it a wise investment. Therefore, it is better to spend $1300 to purchase something exclusive. Also, Item X is the best purifier for large rooms and smaller spaces alike, so you can place it anywhere in your home. However, if you are on a budget, there are still cheaper options that can work well.

If you have large rooms, this air purifier is your best chance to get cleaner air. I live in an apartment, so I had to go to my friend’s house in Eltingville, Staten Island, which is one of the dirtiest zip codes in New York.  

I used this purifier in his living area with windows closed (filtered air escaped from windows, so keep them closed). This air purifier looks something like a large and expensive dustbin placed in the corner.

I first used this filter in turbo mode, which has the highest fan speed, and it cleaned the air in half an hour. You can keep the highest mode on for one or two hours. The Auto mode adjusts the fan speed based on real-time air quality, and the Eco mode runs the fan when needed and then turns off automatically to conserve energy. 

The filtration of OxyPure speaks for its price. It has four filtration systems. There is a pre-filter, bio guard, ozone removal, and HEPA/activated carbon filter.

The biggest selling point of this purifier is that some of its filters are washable, and this same thing is also a dealbreaker for some people. You can wash steel mesh (pre-filter) and bio guard. The company recommends washing them every three to six and one to two months, respectively. However, the HEPA and the ozone filter removal are unwashable, so you will have to replace them every year.

In my test, it was able to clean 400 square feet of room in just 10 minutes, so you can do the math. Although Winix does not have WiFi connectivity or an app, it does have a quality sensor that adjusts the fan speed based on the quality of air. 

As far as the filtration systems are concerned, you will get 3 stages with a pre-filter for larger particles, a carbon filter for odor, and HEPA to capture bacteria, viruses, and pollens. The filtration works great and significantly impacts the health of your indoor environment. However, more high-end devices like OxyPure have far better filtration, but Winix is the best large room air purifier if you have a tight budget. 

The company boasts a built-in ionizer for impactful particle cleaning. As ionizers tend to release ozone naturally, they can affect your respiratory system. However, Winix’es PlasmaWave ionizer just releases 0.05 ppm, making it relatively safer. You can also turn the ionizer button off if you don’t want to use it. Moreover, the filters are washable. You can wash both carbon filter and pre-filter mesh, but HEPA needs to be replaced every year.
