Logitech G933 is a nice enough gaming headset. Its design is very game-ish with two color tones and a heavy build. The ear cups are square, and the headband is wide enough to sit comfortably on your head. I could wear the headset for around 6 hours while continuously playing because it doesn’t feel too tight, and the ear cups are also breathable. 

However, the padding on the ear cups feels rough on the skin, and I had to scratch my ear once in a while because it started to itch. I guess a microfiber as padding would have been more soothing for the skin. 

You will get plenty of options for button controls, but it will take some time to understand the controls. There are two sets of controls for wireless and wired modes of use. If you are playing wireless, you will use the button layout on the right ear cup. Here, you will find a power switch, volume dial, and mic mute button. 

You will also get 3 buttons that you can program for different settings. However, while using wired, you use the in-line remote button layout for basic functions such as call management, play/pause, etc. 

As far as sound is concerned, the G933 gives various frequency responses, especially on the lower end. The sound is good and rich, and the bass accuracy is decent. However, the noise cancellation is not that great. This headphone can not block bus and airplane engine sounds but can isolate the ambient chatters. 

Having a good microphone is essential to enjoy multiplayer gaming sessions, and that’s where Logitech shines. The speech comes out clear and detailed with a natural tone. It also delivers an excellent speech-to-noise ratio that indicates that it can separate speech from ambient sounds.

Logitech g935 is one of the best budget wireless gaming headsets. Its design represents the signature Logitech gaming headset bulk with customizable LEDs. 

The headset fits better than the G933 and has foam-covered leatherette earpads, which are not very breathable but don’t irritate skin. 

The metal strip-supported headband gives reasonable stability to the headset, so you can wear it for a long time, but it is still not a very good option while running or during other physical activities. The headset’s plastic finish looks premium even though it is not very expensive. 

You will get a set of buttons on the left headphone: 3 of those buttons are programable using Logitech G Hub software. You can remap them for changing EQ presets, LED brightness, and surround sound. 

Moreover, the microphone is very adjustable; you can set it at the needed position and then flip it into the left headphone (folding up automatically mutes headphones). Like any other gaming microphone, you can use it to instruct live action while leading the team in an intense gaming session. Its speech quality is good and natural but not something that will deeply impress you.

Maxwell wireless gaming headset is one of the high-end flagships in the market, but they are not all so good. While I appreciate most of its features, I really don’t like its bulky design. When you invest in a gaming headset, the first thing to look for is long-term comfortability. 

I really couldn’t wear Maxwell for more than 4 hours, maybe because I have weak neck muscles that can’t really hold 490 grams of weight, but some of my other colleagues also felt the same. While the ear caps are well-built and comfy, the headband is another story. It is thinner and does not do well for overall weight distribution. 

However, I like the headphones’ physical buttons. You can press the power button to play/pause and answer calls. Two presses allow Bluetooth pairing, and a long press powers off/on the headset. 

You can also use the game/chat wheel to adjust the sidetone and game chat mix. You can also use the volume wheel for EQ presets, play/pause music, and adjust the volume. 

The sound quality is excellently balanced and explosions and gunfire in the game are reasonably loud but do not overpower subtle sounds. However, you can adjust the EQ presets on the included app to customize your perfect mix.

The wireless latency is also very low, so your audio-visuals will sync just right. Overall, Maxwell is a good option if you don’t mind the 490g on your head. 

4. Corsair HS55: Best affordable wireless gaming headset

You will find more controls on the wireless headset than on its wired version. On the left earcup, you will find a volume slider to adjust the volume and a microphone mute button. The power and Bluetooth buttons are on the right side. The power button also plays/pause music and answer calls. 

HS55 has decent sound quality, as one expects in a reasonably priced headset, but it’s not something remarkable. The sound is on the bass emphasis end and works fine in gaming. 

Moreover, the call quality is also fine, and you will have clearer conversations than you get on most other headsets. Also, you can adjust the EQ from Corsair software to have the mix you like. You can connect HS55 with PCs, PS4, and PS5 through a USB dongle, mobile phones, Nintendo Switch, and Steam deck via Bluetooth. Overall, it is a serviceable and affordable headset.

HS80 has good build quality with an elastic suspension band and thick ear pads. The headset has metal hinges that let the headset lay flat and increase its portability. Overall, the build feels premium and sturdy. 

As far as spatial audio is concerned, the HS80 does a commendable job. You will definitely enjoy an immersive gaming experience because it supports Dolby Atmos (licensed for unlimited use) and turns on when you connect it to its software (iCue app), provided you have downloaded Dolby from the Windows Store. 

Moreover, the sound profile of HS80 is on the warmer side, but you will get a little over-emphasis on the high bass, making gaming booms punchy. Overall, you get a great gaming experience, but when you are listening to music, you might notice some frequency variation. I wear glasses, so I have to reposition and fit the headphones to avoid the drop in the bass. On the plus side, you can set the sound profile of your choice through EQ in the iCue software. 

Noise-canceling is something that every gamer appreciates in their headphones. Unfortunately, there is no software feature to set NC in HS80. So, you will be quite aware of the ambient chats, sounds of the bus engine, etc.

However, the omnidirectional microphone has amazing audio, so your sound recordings will be bright and easy to understand even in noisy surroundings. However, the battery life is not that good. You will get 13 hours of juice, but it is far lower than the 20 hours advertised by the flagship.
