JSAUX FlipGo Pro 13.5 inch Dual Screen Monitor  Review: A Gamer Changer or Just Another Gadget?

FlipGo dual monitor

Jsaux FlipGo portable dual screen from JSAUX is a device that has turned many heads. Jsaux, the Steam Deck accessories manufacturer, brought a dual-screen portable monitor to the market as a productivity enhancer for multitaskers. However, is this portable monitor necessary to enhance productivity, or is it just another tech gadget that will cost you a few hundred dollars? Find out in this JSAUX FlipGo Pro 13.5-inch review.

Tech Specs

  • Display Size: 13.5 inch
  • Resolution: 2256*1504
  • Peak Brightness: 400 nits
  • Weight: 1.16 kg

Design

For starters, the FlipGo monitor comes in three models. There are Standard, Pro, and Touch. All of these models have two different sizes. You can purchase either a 13.5-inch or 16-inch display.

Furthermore, each model has a few distinctive features. For this review, I have the JSAUX 13.5-inch Pro version, which brings some excellent features to the table (cons aside). When you first unbox FliGo, you see a thin laptop-like silhouette. The real deal shows up when you open the monitor. The dual-screen display feels weirdly pleasing, I mean, if you are not accustomed to seeing anything like it before.

The construction of dual monitors feels a little cheap, to be honest, and the plastic matte finish with aluminum panels is nothing to call home for. It is sturdy but feels cheap.

The braces around the hinges feel cumbersome, too. I mean, I would love it if there was something a little slimmer in the middle. For Instance, the UPerfect Delta dual monitor has very slim braces and a more premium build. However, unlike Delta, FlipGo is more portable due to its clamshell design. You can just close it and throw it into your backpack.

One of the things I liked the most about the Jsaux monitor is the amount of ports. You get two USB 2.0, an OTG Type-C, a power button, and a menu button. On the left side, you have the Display Switch button, USB-C1 3.2 for Windows, USB-C2 3.2 for Mac, and a mini HDMI port. FlipGo also offers reverse charging, so you can keep all of your devices running all the time. The Display Switch button allows you to use the monitors at your convenience.

Display Quality

The display quality is decent and renders sharp color production. It also has enough brightness for day-to-day tasks, especially if you do office work. The Jsaux FliPGo 13.5-inch Pro has a 1500:1 contrast ratio and 3:2 aspect ratio with 400 nits of brightness.

Overall, you get a visually pleasing display. However, if you pay a little attention, you will see soft edges on both screens. Moreover, if you go for the 16-inch model, you will get 500 nits of peak brightness, 1200:1 contrast ratio, and 2560*1600 resolution. I have seen the 16-inch display in use. It is sharper and has a better viewing angle compared to the 13.5 inch.

You can also tweak the display settings from the menu. The options are basic, but I don’t think you will need to use these settings more often. You can change brightness, contrast, color temperature, saturation, DCR, etc from the menu. You can access these settings from a dedicated menu button on the side of the display. I never really used these settings except for the first time when I felt like the blue level was too much for my eyes, so I turned it down a bit.

Features Practical Use

The Pro FlipGo has some edge over the Standard and even touch version in practical use. If you go with the Standard 13.5 or even 16-inch monitors, you will need two cables to connect both screens to your computer separately.

However, the version that I used for testing (Pro) uses DisplayLink, which adds to the convenience as it only needs one cable to operate both screens. If you connect your PC or Mac via USB-C, they will detect both the screen separately.

You can cycle through display modes via the Display Switch and choose the view you want. You can also use Ultraview mode on both 13.5 and 16-inch Pro models. It makes two separate screens, a single huge one. I don’t really like this mode because the middle bezels make it kind of an awkward experience, but it feels cool while playing games.

Nevertheless, I prefer to use the two monitors separately because most of my work consists of writing and reviewing products. One screen shows my docs, and the other displays my review notes so I can write efficiently and boost the multitasking process. Therefore, I suggest you take advantage of two screens and use the system in Duoview.

If you want to use Jsaux FlipGo dual monitor Pro for gaming, keep in mind the 60 Hz refresh rate. This limitation makes FlipGo a not-so-gaming monitor, so you can only use these screens for casual gaming and dual-screen emulation. Therefore, these monitors work more effectively for work than gaming.

You can mount Flipgo Panels on one of the three mounts. There is a Snap Stand, VESA mount, and Flex Folio. I used both Snap Stand and Folio and they do a great job in keeping the screen mounted. The folio provides a stronger hold while Snap clears up space on the workstation by adding height to the screens.

JSAUX FlipGo Pro 13.5 reviews

Now, if you want to know what people think about this device, here is a run-through. I read a lot of testimonials on various web sources and have concluded that most people are pleased with the overall performance of the JSAUX 13.5-inch Pro version.

However, some users complain about locked brightness and a few instruction manual-related problems. I did not find many reviews about the 16-inch version, but I have seen a few colleagues use it, and they seem pretty pleased.

Jsaux FlipGo alternatives

Jsaux FlipGo has an ambitious design, but if you don’t really get the idea, there are many amazing screen extenders to take a look at. If your priority is gaming, you can go for the Asus ROG Strix XG17AHPE.

It’s a dedicated gaming monitor that you can dock with PlayStation or Switch and enjoy intense gaming. This one offers a 240 Hz refresh rate, fantastic audio, and a built-in battery, so you won’t need anything else. However, if you aim to stream and work, Arzopa Z1RC is a better option.

Bottom Line

JSAUX FlipGo Pro 13.5 is nothing out of the box but still provides decent basic features for multitasking. If you have to use multiple tabs daily, this little duo will definitely improve your work potential. Besides, you can also use dual monitors for light gaming and streaming, but it does not have built-in speakers, so you will have to attach externals. Overall, Jsaux FlipGo dual monitor pro specs are pretty adequate for everyday use, but it is definitely not a game-changer product.
